Choose the best Nha Trang to Da Lat bus, limousine or private car

Traveling solo or as a couple? A morning bus or limousine is usually the most affordable choice. For families, large suitcases or a flexible schedule, a private car gives you more control over pickup times and stops.

Road 723, now National Route 27C.

National Highway 27C connects Nha Trang and Da Lat over a distance of roughly 135 km, but this is not a typical three-hour highway drive. The route climbs through Khanh Le Pass, where sharp bends, mountain fog and ongoing road repairs can slow traffic. For planning purposes, allow 4-5 hours in good conditions and 5-6 hours or more with roadworks or rain, travel in daylight and check road conditions before booking.

How far is Nha Trang from Da Lat, and how long does it take?

The shortest commonly used route between central Nha Trang and central Da Lat follows National Highway 27C, covering approximately 134-140 km. The road passes through Dien Khanh and Khanh Vinh before climbing Khanh Le Pass, continuing toward Lac Duong and eventually entering Da Lat.

On a clear day, a car traveling directly between the two cities may complete the journey in around 3-4 hours. That is not a reliable estimate for travelers using shared buses or trying to connect with a flight.

Most travelers should allow 4-5 hours for the full journey, and 5-6 hours or more with roadworks or rain. Some operators run trips of around four hours, while others schedule closer to five hours and twelve minutes.

The difference usually comes down to pickup locations, intermediate stops, vehicle type, road conditions and the actual route used.

Highway 1A and Highway 27BAround 179 km4-5 hours or longer
Highway 27C during roadworks or heavy rainSimilar distance5-6 hours or more

These are planning estimates rather than guaranteed journey times. A full road closure can cause much longer delays.

A map shows the distance between two central points; your bus may cover more. A bus may depart from Nha Trang's northern bus station, stop at an operator's office or drop passengers at Da Lat Bus Station rather than their hotels.

A four-hour journey could take considerably longer from your hotel door to your final destination.

When comparing tickets, check both the stated journey time and the exact pickup and drop-off locations.

Points along the route

  1. Cam Ranh Airport: The airport for the flight home, outside Nha Trang, so the transfer needs extra time.
  2. Khanh Vinh: The vehicle passes through this area before climbing the pass.
  3. Khanh Le Pass: About 33 km long, with sharp bends and repairs under way.
  4. Da Lat Bus Station: The intercity bus station in the To Hien Thanh area.
  5. Lien Khuong Airport: Roughly 30 km from central Da Lat.

Is Da Lat to Nha Trang faster because it is downhill?

Not necessarily. Although the road descends toward Nha Trang, the vehicle still passes through the same winding sections of Khanh Le Pass.

Drivers must slow down around tight bends, roadworks and sections affected by fog.

Some operators run slightly shorter journeys from Da Lat to Nha Trang. This may reflect different stops or scheduling rather than the downhill direction itself.

For either direction, allowing at least four to five hours is a sensible starting point.

Is Khanh Le Pass open in November 2026?

Khanh Le Pass in November 2026: the pass is open to traffic during permitted hours, but repair work is still underway. Temporary closures can occur at construction sites, and overnight vehicle restrictions remain in place.

Repairs are continuing at nine locations along National Highway 27C. Some sections require workers to remove loose rock, reinforce mountain slopes and install protective barriers.

During these operations, traffic may be stopped temporarily before vehicles are allowed through under the direction of road personnel.

Each temporary closure is intended to last no longer than one hour. Several interruptions during a journey can still cause significant delays.

The road repair project is expected to be finished in December 2026.

Khanh Le Pass opening hours

Since February 13, 2026, vehicles may travel through Khanh Le Pass during the following hours:

TimeTraffic arrangement
5:00 AM-6:00 PMVehicles permitted, subject to local traffic control
6:00 PM-5:00 AMNighttime restrictions apply to the affected pass section

A vehicle leaving Nha Trang at 3:30 PM may not be able to complete the crossing on Highway 27C before 6:00 PM, especially if traffic is delayed. A bus company may use another route or adjust its schedule, so always confirm which road your service will take.

Why does Khanh Le Pass have traffic restrictions?

Khanh Le Pass is also known as Khanh Vinh Pass or Omega Pass. The mountain section is approximately 33 km long, with steep gradients, continuous bends and substantial changes in elevation.

Heavy rain and landslides in November 2025 damaged several sections of Highway 27C. Repairs continued throughout 2026, particularly where unstable slopes could release rocks onto the road.

Rain and fog add another complication.

The weather in central Nha Trang can be sunny while the mountain road is wet or covered in fog.

This is why traveling during daylight is the better choice while repairs continue.

If authorities announce a closure because of heavy rain, landslide risk or construction work, postpone the journey or use an officially permitted alternative.

Do not attempt to pass a road barrier, even if you have already paid for a private driver.

How to check whether Khanh Le Pass is open

Check the latest announcements from the Khanh Hoa Department of Construction and local traffic authorities before departure. Then contact your bus company or private driver.

Ask three straightforward questions:

  • Is my booked service operating as scheduled?
  • Will the vehicle use Highway 27C through Khanh Le Pass?
  • Has the expected arrival time changed because of roadworks or a diversion?

This second confirmation matters because a road may technically be open while traffic is still being stopped at individual construction sites. Check the route again on the morning of travel when you have a non-refundable hotel booking, a fixed tour departure or a flight the following day.

Bus, limousine or private car: which should you choose?

There are three practical ways to travel between Nha Trang and Da Lat: a regular passenger bus, a shared limousine minibus or a private car with a driver. Sleeper buses are also listed on some booking platforms, although they are not usually the most convenient choice for this relatively short mountain journey.

TransportExample 2026 priceBest for
Regular seated busFUTA Bus Lines: VND 210,000 per passengerSolo travelers and budget-conscious couples
Shared limousineCuc Tung: VND 210,000; Dat Moi: VND 220,000 per passengerTravelers wanting a larger, more comfortable seat
Private 4-5-seat carTrong Tai: from VND 910,000 per vehicle, one wayCouples, small families and travelers with luggage
Private 7-seat carTrong Tai: from VND 1,020,000 per vehicle, one wayFamilies and small groups
Sleeper busVaries by operator and vehicleTravelers specifically wanting a sleeper berth

These are 2026 prices per operator; the fare for your travel date may differ.

Regular bus: the practical budget option

A regular seated bus is suitable if you are traveling alone, carrying one suitcase and do not need a private transfer. FUTA Bus Lines, commonly known as Phuong Trang, operates services between Nha Trang and Da Lat.

In September 2026, the company introduced KimLong 99 - N29 premium seated limousine vehicles on this route while keeping its fare of VND 210,000 per passenger.

These services began operating from September 20, 2026.

FUTA has an established ticketing system and passenger support hotline, which can make the booking process easier.

Check the boarding location carefully. Not every service picks passengers up directly from their hotels, and any available shuttle transfer may have its own service area.

For a journey of this length, a comfortable seated coach is generally sufficient.

There is little reason to pay extra for a premium vehicle if its pickup point is inconvenient or the departure time does not work for you.

Limousine minibus: a comfortable choice for couples

In Vietnam, the term limousine often refers to an upgraded minibus rather than a long luxury car. On the Nha Trang - Da Lat route, limousine services commonly use vehicles with nine, eleven or twelve passenger seats. Some offer reclining seats, charging ports and additional amenities.

Operators include Cuc Tung Limousine, Dat Moi Limousine VIP and Go365.

A limousine is a good choice if you want more personal space than a standard coach while keeping the fare reasonably low.

There are still differences between operators.

A nine-seat vehicle may offer more space per passenger, but it can have limited luggage storage when all seats are occupied.

An eleven-seat or sixteen-seat vehicle may be less spacious, even when described as a limousine.

Check the actual vehicle type for your selected departure, not only the promotional photographs.

Confirm the luggage allowance before paying for a large checked suitcase.

Private car: worth considering for three or more people

Private transport becomes more appealing when the cost is shared. For example, four limousine tickets at VND 220,000 cost VND 880,000.

One-way private-car prices start at VND 910,000 in 2026 for a four- or five-seat car operated by Trong Tai.

A seven-seat vehicle starts at VND 1,020,000.

The difference may be small enough to justify booking a private vehicle when your group has several suitcases.

With a private car, you can arrange pickup directly from your hotel, choose a convenient departure time and ask the driver to stop at suitable places along the journey.

This works especially well for families with children, older travelers and groups that prefer not to transfer between bus stations and hotels.

Before booking, ask for a clear quotation covering fuel, tolls, driver expenses, applicable taxes, out-of-area pickup charges and any additional cost if a road diversion is necessary.

Those starting prices exclude VAT and certain surcharges.

Nha Trang to Da Lat bus companies, timetables and prices

Several companies operate between Nha Trang and Da Lat in both directions. Departures run each day, including morning, afternoon and evening services.

Because of the road restrictions, the best way to choose is by comparing daytime departure times and confirming the actual route.

Availability and operating times can change. An evening departure shown on a booking platform may not cross Khanh Le Pass at night.

FUTA Bus Lines / Phuong Trang

VND 210,000, departures 7:15 AM-3:30 PM

FUTA is one of Vietnam's major intercity bus operators. The fare is VND 210,000 for the Da Lat - Nha Trang route in both directions since September 2026, including the newly introduced KimLong 99 - N29 premium seated vehicles.

Reservations can be made through FUTA's official ticketing system.

The operator also has a Vietnamese passenger support hotline at 1900 6067.

FUTA is a reasonable option for travelers who prefer an established booking process, scheduled departures and clearly identified boarding locations.

Check whether your ticket includes any shuttle transfer and where that transfer operates.

Cuc Tung Limousine

About VND 210,000, many morning trips

Cuc Tung operates shared limousine services between Nha Trang and Da Lat. The 2026 fare is around VND 210,000 per passenger.

The service uses nine-seat limousine vehicles on some departures, with journey times of around four hours on individual listings.

Pickup and drop-off locations may include the company's Nha Trang office and Da Lat Bus Station.

Some booking information also refers to the northern bus station in Nha Trang, so use the address on your specific ticket rather than assuming all departures leave from the same terminal.

Cuc Tung offers morning services in both directions.

For the return journey from Da Lat, departures include options around 7:30 AM, 8:30 AM, 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM.

These are useful times for travelers who want to arrive at the coast during daylight.

Dat Moi Limousine VIP

VND 220,000, office at 10 Yersin

Dat Moi operates limousine services on the Nha Trang - Da Lat route. Its Nha Trang pickup office is at 10 Yersin Street, while its Da Lat office is at 31B Nguyen Trai Street.

The 2026 fare is VND 220,000 per passenger.

Morning departures include 6:00 AM, 7:30 AM, 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM.

The operator lists a journey of approximately five hours and twelve minutes, so not every limousine reaches Da Lat in three hours.

The earlier departures are more suitable while the mountain road remains subject to daytime-only operation.

Go365

From VND 199,000, several small vehicles

Go365 offers shared limousine and seated-vehicle services between the two cities. Fares start at around VND 199,000 per passenger in 2026.

Its Nha Trang pickup office is around 86 To Huu Street, while its Da Lat office is around 24 Pasteur Street.

Check the location attached to your specific departure because operators may use different pickup arrangements or intermediate stops.

Go365 suits travelers wanting smaller vehicles and several departure choices.

Choose the service based on its confirmed route, pickup location and arrival estimate rather than the lowest displayed fare alone.

Choose the departure that fits your hotel

A VND 199,000 ticket can cost more overall than a VND 220,000 ticket. An additional taxi journey to a distant pickup point can erase the difference.

For travelers staying near Tran Phu Beach in central Nha Trang, a conveniently located city office may be preferable to a bus station farther away.

In Da Lat, the same principle applies.

A drop-off at the intercity bus station is different from a drop-off at a downtown office or directly outside your accommodation.

Compare the total door-to-door journey, not just the bus fare.

What is the best time to leave Nha Trang or Da Lat?

Morning departures are the most practical choice in November 2026, especially while Khanh Le Pass remains under repair.

Nha Trang to Da Lat: leave between 6:30 AM and 9:00 AM

Most travelers do best with this departure window. Leaving early gives the vehicle enough time to reach Khanh Vinh, climb Khanh Le Pass in daylight and continue toward Da Lat without approaching the evening restriction.

Under favorable conditions, a 7:30 AM departure may arrive around lunchtime or early afternoon.

Services publishing a journey time of five hours or more could arrive closer to 12:30 PM or 1:00 PM, even without unusual delays.

Plan to spend the first half of the day traveling.

After reaching Da Lat, you can leave your luggage at the hotel, have lunch and begin exploring later in the afternoon.

Da Lat seen from a hillside, houses spread under the pines.

Avoid arranging a fixed early-afternoon tour immediately after a morning bus journey. An afternoon departure gives you less flexibility.

For example, a 1:30 PM bus may still operate, but you need to confirm whether it will use Highway 27C or an alternative road.

Da Lat to Nha Trang: leave between 7:00 AM and 9:30 AM

The same morning window works well in the opposite direction. Your vehicle will descend through Khanh Le Pass toward Khanh Vinh and eventually reach Nha Trang.

With a morning departure, you can usually keep the late afternoon or evening free for activities around the coast.

A 7:30 AM or 8:00 AM departure is especially practical if you want to check into a Nha Trang hotel later that day.

Do not book an island tour with an early-afternoon meeting time based solely on the bus company's estimated arrival.

Traffic delays could leave you rushing directly from the bus to a tour pickup.

Instead, plan something flexible such as walking along Tran Phu Beach, eating seafood or visiting the beachfront after checking in.

Tran Phu Beach with palms along the shore, an easy first walk after arriving in Nha Trang.

Should you leave Nha Trang after 4:00 PM?

A late-afternoon departure may not get through Khanh Le Pass. The relevant road restriction starts at 6:00 PM, and a bus leaving central Nha Trang at 4:00 PM still has to reach and cross the mountain section.

Roadworks can add waiting time.

Some operators may use different routes for late services, while others may change departure times.

Before booking an afternoon or evening ticket, ask exactly which road the vehicle will take.

Choose a morning service whenever the answer is unclear.

Limousine or sleeper bus: which is better?

For most people traveling between Nha Trang and Da Lat, a seated limousine is the better option.

The journey is relatively short, but the road includes many consecutive mountain bends. A sleeper bus offers a place to lie down, which can be useful on long overnight trips.

Lying flat on a winding mountain road can be less comfortable than sitting upright.

Large sleeper buses may also stop to pick up or drop off passengers along longer intercity routes.

That can make their total journey time less predictable than a direct limousine service.

Sleeper buses listed for nighttime departures need particular attention.

The existence of a ticket does not prove that the vehicle will use Khanh Le Pass during restricted hours. It may follow another route.

What if you get motion sickness?

Choose a forward-facing seat and avoid reading or using your phone continuously during the mountain section. Keeping your eyes on the road ahead can help some travelers feel more comfortable.

A private vehicle lets you request appropriate stops, which helps when you are prone to severe motion sickness.

You can also ask a pharmacist or healthcare professional about suitable motion-sickness medication before traveling.

A private car does not remove the bends, but it does give you more control over the pace of the journey.

Is riding a motorbike between Nha Trang and Da Lat a good idea?

This route is better suited to riders who already have experience with long mountain roads. Khanh Le Pass has steep gradients, sharp bends and sections where fog can significantly reduce visibility.

Motorcyclists must also obey temporary closures, traffic controls and any applicable restrictions.

Make sure your driving license is legally valid for the type of motorcycle you intend to use, and check the rental and insurance conditions, especially if you are visiting Vietnam from abroad.

For travelers who are unfamiliar with Vietnamese roads or have little mountain-riding experience, a bus or car with a driver is the more practical choice.

Is Khanh Le Pass worth seeing?

Khanh Le Pass is one of the most scenic sections of the Nha Trang - Da Lat journey. The road climbs from lower coastal terrain toward forested mountains, with steep valleys, rock faces and occasional views across the surrounding hills.

The temperature and visibility can change noticeably during the ascent.

On a clear day, there may be opportunities to see wide mountain landscapes.

On a rainy day, fog may hide the scenery almost entirely.

Can you stop for photos?

Discuss possible stops with your driver before departure when you book a private car. Only stop where parking is permitted and the location provides enough space away from moving traffic.

Shared buses and limousines generally follow fixed schedules and are not designed for sightseeing stops requested by individual passengers. A private daytime car is the more suitable option when photography is an important part of your trip.

Even then, crossing the mountain section safely and within the permitted hours should take priority over additional stops.

How to book a Nha Trang - Da Lat bus ticket

Start with the pickup and drop-off addresses, then compare prices. This order helps international travelers who may not recognize the different bus stations and operator offices.

Check the exact pickup address

Many visitors stay around Tran Phu Street, Nguyen Thien Thuat Street or the central tourist area of Nha Trang. Bus companies may collect passengers at offices on Yersin, To Huu or Ngo Gia Tu Streets, or at one of the city's bus stations.

These are different locations.

The northern bus station can be much less convenient than a central office, depending on where you are staying. In Da Lat, the main intercity bus station in the To Hien Thanh area is also separate from several downtown transport offices.

Buses parked at the Da Lat bus station, with a pine-covered hill behind.

Do not assume that a ticket includes free hotel pickup or drop-off. Some operators provide transfers within a defined service area, while others require you to reach their office independently.

Confirm the boarding time

A ticket marked 8:00 AM may require you to be there earlier, to confirm your ticket, load luggage and board.

Check the company's instructions after booking.

Give yourself additional time to reach the pickup point when traveling with children or carrying several large bags.

Check the luggage policy

Limousine minibuses can have limited luggage capacity when all passenger seats are occupied. This matters if you are traveling through Vietnam for several weeks and carrying a large suitcase or backpack.

Ask the operator how many bags are included per passenger and whether larger suitcases require additional arrangements.

A smaller limousine may be very comfortable inside but less suitable for a group carrying substantial luggage.

Keep the operator's contact details

Save your booking confirmation, ticket number, pickup address, departure time and operator's contact number. Check your messages again before leaving the hotel.

Roadworks and traffic diversions can lead to changes that are not immediately reflected in third-party booking listings.

How to plan the journey if you have a flight the next day

Flight connections are the main reason to leave more time than the scheduled bus journey. A delay on Khanh Le Pass can affect your entire schedule, particularly during the rainy season.

Scenario 1: Da Lat to Nha Trang, flying from Cam Ranh the next day

Suppose your flight from Cam Ranh Airport leaves at 11:00 AM on Saturday. Book a Da Lat to Nha Trang bus for Friday morning, ideally departing between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM.

Under normal conditions, you should reach Nha Trang around midday or early afternoon.

Spend Friday night in Nha Trang, prepare your luggage and check your airline's flight status.

On Saturday morning, you only need to travel from your accommodation to Cam Ranh Airport.

The airport is outside Nha Trang, so that transfer requires additional time.

Avoid booking a Friday evening mountain transfer and assuming you will arrive before midnight.

With the nighttime restrictions and ongoing repairs, your chosen service may need to travel a much longer route or change its operating time.

Scenario 2: Nha Trang to Da Lat, flying from Lien Khuong Airport the next day

Lien Khuong International Airport resumed operations on August 19, 2026, after repairs to its runway and taxiways. The airport is roughly 30 km from central Da Lat, with a typical car journey of about 35-50 minutes under favorable conditions.

If you have a flight from Lien Khuong the next morning, travel from Nha Trang to Da Lat on the previous morning.

For example, if your flight departs at 9:30 AM on Sunday, book your Nha Trang - Da Lat road journey for Saturday morning.

Arrive in Da Lat, spend the night and arrange your airport transfer in advance.

For an early-morning flight, ask your hotel to help confirm a taxi or private transfer the evening before.

Finding a car is not equally easy at every hour.

Scenario 3: Taking the bus and flying on the same day

This is the least flexible arrangement. It may be possible when your flight departs much later, the road is operating normally and you have an acceptable backup plan.

But you must calculate more than the scheduled bus journey.

Include the time needed to reach the bus pickup point, possible departure delays, construction stops, the journey from the final bus stop to the airport and the airline's required check-in time.

For example, a bus scheduled to arrive in Nha Trang at noon should not be treated as a reliable connection for an early-afternoon flight from Cam Ranh.

A delay of 60-90 minutes may leave insufficient time to reach the airport and complete check-in.

For international flights, expensive tickets or bookings that cannot be changed, arriving in the airport city the previous day is strongly preferable.

How much buffer time should you allow?

For an ordinary journey without a fixed appointment, begin with a four- to five-hour travel allowance and add more time, up to five to six hours or more, when roadworks, rain or other conditions are uncertain. A strict starting time, such as an event or meeting, calls for several hours of additional flexibility.

An overnight stay is a more reliable buffer before a flight.

No two- or three-hour allowance can fully protect you against a road closure lasting much of the day.

Three practical Nha Trang - Da Lat itineraries

Option A: solo traveler on a budget

Stay in Nha Trang the night before your journey. Choose a bus or limousine departing around 7:00-8:30 AM.

Fares in 2026 run around VND 210,000 with Cuc Tung Limousine and VND 220,000 with Dat Moi Limousine VIP.

Keep the morning and early afternoon free for travel.

After arriving in Da Lat, leave your luggage at the hotel and have lunch.

Plan sightseeing for later in the day or the following morning rather than booking an activity immediately after arrival.

Use the same method when traveling back toward Nha Trang.

Option B: couple with two suitcases

For two travelers, a shared limousine provides a reasonable balance between price and comfort. A service departing around 8:00-9:00 AM generally works well, provided the operator confirms the route.

Compare the pickup locations against your hotel.

A limousine that leaves from a nearby city office may save more time than one requiring a taxi journey to a distant bus station.

Check the baggage allowance for both suitcases before paying.

Option C: family or group of four

A family or group of four should compare the cost of four limousine tickets with a private five- or seven-seat car. A private four- or five-seat vehicle on the Nha Trang - Da Lat route starts at VND 910,000 in 2026.

A seven-seat vehicle starts at VND 1,020,000.

With the cost shared across four passengers, a private transfer can be competitive.

It also allows your group to leave from the hotel, keep everyone together and make suitable rest stops.

A departure around 7:00-8:00 AM is practical.

If traveling with a young child, arrange an appropriate child restraint in advance and confirm the provider can supply it.

Keep sightseeing stops short while the road restrictions remain in place.

What happens if Khanh Le Pass is closed?

When Highway 27C is temporarily closed, drivers may need to use an alternative route. One possible option uses National Highway 1A and National Highway 27B, along with suitable connecting roads toward Da Lat.

This route is longer, at roughly 179 km depending on the actual starting point and road connection.

The journey may take four to five hours in favorable conditions, or considerably longer when traffic or weather is poor.

The alternative can be closed too, and bus companies may choose other roads.

Other mountain roads can also be affected by rain, fog or traffic restrictions.

The driver and transport operator should follow the latest official traffic directions when choosing a diversion.

If you are traveling by bus

Contact the operator to confirm whether the service will run, which route it will take and the revised arrival time. Ask about the refund or rebooking conditions attached to your ticket if the journey no longer works with your plans.

Keep the booking confirmation until the issue is resolved.

If you have booked a private car

Ask your provider whether an alternative route is included in the original quotation. A much longer diversion can involve additional driving time, fuel or other costs.

Agree on any extra charge before departure.

If road conditions are unsafe and authorities have closed the relevant routes, postponing the trip is better than attempting an unfamiliar mountain shortcut.

Nha Trang to Da Lat: advice for international visitors

International travelers often search for this journey using terms such as Nha Trang to Dalat bus, Nha Trang to Da Lat limousine or Nha Trang to Dalat private car.

The transport options are essentially the same for Vietnamese and international passengers, but a few booking details deserve extra attention.

Bus or limousine for backpackers

If you are traveling alone with a backpack or one small suitcase, a shared limousine or seated bus is usually the simplest choice. It is inexpensive compared with hiring a private car and offers scheduled departures between the two cities.

Choose a morning journey and confirm your pickup location.

An operator's office may be marked in Vietnamese on the booking confirmation, so keep the original address, not only a translated street name.

Private car for families and travelers with large luggage

A private car is more convenient if you are carrying several checked suitcases or traveling with children. You can arrange pickup and drop-off directly at your accommodation, reducing the need to find taxis at either end.

Private cars are not guaranteed to arrive faster than shared services.

They use the same mountain roads and must comply with the same traffic controls.

Three things to confirm in English

Before paying, ask the operator to confirm the pickup address, drop-off address and estimated arrival time.

Also ask whether the vehicle is a shared minibus or a genuinely private car. Some booking platforms list several vehicle types under the general description of a limousine.

Read the vehicle description carefully when privacy or luggage capacity matters.

Can you travel by train?

There is no direct passenger train connecting central Nha Trang and Da Lat. Nha Trang is served by Vietnam's national railway network, but the railway does not continue to Da Lat as a regular intercity passenger route.

Traveling by road is therefore the most practical direct option.

The historic Da Lat railway attraction is not a substitute for transport between the two cities.

What to check 24 hours before departure

  1. First

    Condition of Highway 27C

The first thing to check is the condition of Highway 27C.

Do not rely only on the color of the route displayed in a navigation app.

Look for official traffic announcements and ask your transport provider whether any closure or diversion affects your departure.

  2. Next

    Weather on both sides

Next, check the weather around Khanh Vinh and Lac Duong, not just Nha Trang and central Da Lat.

These locations are closer to the mountain section where rain and fog can make driving more difficult.

A sunny forecast for Nha Trang does not mean the pass will be clear.

  3. Finally

    Reconfirm with the operator

Finally, reconfirm the practical details of your journey: departure time, pickup address, vehicle type, luggage allowance and the operator's intended route.

The information shown on a third-party platform's original confirmation may not reflect the latest operational changes. Ask the transport provider directly when roadworks or traffic controls affect the service.

For tickets that allow changes or cancellations, make these checks before the relevant deadline.

Which transport option should you book?

Choose a morning seated bus or shared limousine when you are traveling alone with light luggage and a flexible schedule. Skip the private car if the only gain is a small amount of time.

A nine- or eleven-seat limousine is a reasonable option for a couple. Compare pickup addresses, seat type and luggage allowances before deciding.

Consider a private car with children, older family members or several large suitcases. The additional flexibility may justify the cost, especially when shared among three or four passengers.

If you have a flight the following day, make the travel date your first decision and the vehicle your second. Take the mountain journey on the previous day, stay overnight in the city near your airport and leave the flight day for the airport transfer.

FAQ

How far is Nha Trang from Da Lat, and how long does the bus take?

The shortest commonly used road route is approximately 134-140 km via National Highway 27C and Khanh Le Pass. A direct car may take around 3-4 hours in favorable conditions, but bus passengers should allow 4-5 hours, or 5-6 hours or more with roadworks or rain, including stops and possible delays.

Is Khanh Le Pass open in November 2026?

The pass remains open during permitted hours, with ongoing road repairs and temporary traffic stops. Since February 13, 2026, vehicles may cross from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM, while nighttime restrictions apply from 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Check official announcements and confirm with your operator before departure.

How much does a Nha Trang to Da Lat limousine cost?

Is a limousine or sleeper bus better for Nha Trang to Da Lat?

A seated limousine is better for most travelers because the trip is relatively short and includes many winding mountain sections. A sleeper bus may suit travelers who specifically want a berth, but its schedule, route and stopping pattern should be checked carefully.

Can I travel from Da Lat to Nha Trang on the same day as my flight?

It is not a good choice for morning or early-afternoon flights from Cam Ranh Airport. Roadworks, rain and temporary closures can delay the mountain journey. Traveling to Nha Trang the day before your flight and staying overnight provides a much safer connection.
